Returning to my first Love...

It's no secret
Paris Grey is my favorite
ASCP color...

Don't get me wrong...
I pretty much love them all...
But Paris Grey, to me, is perfection

It's not too blue
nor too yellow
not too dark
nor too light

It looks great on just about every piece
and works with
or without
dark wax

This dresser had great curves
and a tired wood finish

The heavy distressing keeps it
from being too precious

I didn't dark wax this piece
I kind of like the crispness
countered with the distressing

I could see this
as a buffet
or
in an entryway
even in a nursery...

The more we "master"
using wax
the happier I am
to have taken the plunge to use it
I know it's not for everyone
but for us, there is nothing that compares

  1. Beautiful, I love that color! I am just about to order my first ever ASCP! Super excited and scared to death of the wax. It's a pretty hot topic around blogworld, confusing! But it looks amazing. I restore log homes so I get the "you get what you pay for thing." Now the hard part...which colors and wax to get?! That Paris Grey is so lovely and well the name is great too! Great post!

  2. That piece is gorgeous. I was blog hopping and found your blog. I paint with ASCP, too. I did my dining room hutch in the Paris Gray with some other colors added, too. So much fun to work with. I have been using CoCo a lot lately.

    1. Hey Kim! I'd love to see your hutch! I just used Coco on my bathroom vanity...matches my Restoration Hardware linen shower curtain almost exactly...crazy!

  3. Don't you love how ASCP can be wiped away to "preserve" the top finish of wood rather than sanding and taking off the beautiful Mahogany peeking through? Definitely one of it's finest attributes!

  4. Simply gorgeous! I have several colors of ASCP but I haven't bought Paris Grey yet. It might have to be my next purchase!! I recently used Arles and I'm in love with it!
