Coral Hotness

I've been pretty busy with my "day" job lately
so I haven't gotten much painting done

I tip-toed back to my "other" job
with this sweet little Drexel nightstand

It didn't come with a dresser,
so I decided to just make it fun!

I've been lusting after Coral lately
(as evidenced by my Pinterest board!)

so I mixed up a small batch using chalk paint
and here is what I ended up with!

I do love it...it's rich, bright, and sexy!

I was torn on what to do on the interior,
and on a whim, I mixed up this lovely Robin's Egg Blue
it's a nice accent, don't you think?
Makes it a very lively piece!

The gilding adds a bit of glam
and it all came together perfectly!

You can find this in our Etsy shop

  2. I think your concoction should be a standard color. Very attractive. And the blue and gold accent remind me immediately of a vintage circus. Absolutely beautiful! How do you balance the hidden desire to distress? This one looks fantastic without distressing but I could see it both ways. I really have to watch myself because I would distress a person if they stood still long enough. Haha!

    1. Thanks! I agree, Coral should be a readily available color. I, too, was reminded of a vintage circus.

I tend to want to distress everything, as well, but don't want to get stuck in a rut. Gotta mix it up every now and again! Plus, I really wanted this to stay crisp. I didn't even use dark wax, which is unusual for me, but I knew it would turn my pretty coral color more orange.
