Farmhouse Love Affair

I LOVE that these piece have been painted again and again...and again!

Someone really loved them

We've simply cleaned them up,
reinforced where necessary,
made a few repairs,
and there you have it!

Authentic patina,
perfectly rustic and distressed

We've held on to these pieces for years...
I just couldn't part with them, although we never used them

The table works well as a desk

Don't you LOVE the top?
Amazing.

I think there is at least a dozen different colors on these pieces

Original hardware...gorgeous!

All that crazing and chipping tells a story...this desk has seen a LOT

Would you believe I told Kenny to throw away the chair?
I know.

It needed attention, and attention it got!

Now it's all shored up, sealed up, and ready for use again

Thanks!

Serenity Dresser

This dresser needed MUCH love
when we brought it home...

That's Kenny's department!
I knew I wanted soft, serene colors for this piece
It had already been through enough!

We custom mixed this gorgeous, soft color
It was inspired by a color called "Sugar Cane"

I love the bow-front,  the pretty details on each side
I love the hardware...oh, who am I kidding, I love it all

In case you're curious, this piece was done
with milk paint with Bonding Agent added

We stripped the top, but haven't stained it yet...
Stain it, paint it...I'm leaving that decision to the buyer!

What have YOU painted lately?

make a fabulous
coffee table!

Junkin'

The three photos above
are of an antique railing
pulled from the courthouse in
Ellijay, GA
I wanted it.
I REALLY wanted it.
My sweet husband offered
to strap it on top of the car.
I think it would be great
to separate rooms in an open floor plan
OR
maybe...I could use it at the store
to separate our space from our neighbors...

We leave tomorrow.
If you see an Expedition
driving down the interstate
with an 8 1/2 ft railing
on top
well, I guess you know...

We also found this great chest...
not my color choice but fabulous
just the same

I had this off the wall and in my hands
but decided I was being silly
It was expensive
and I already have one
Still kinda wish I bought it, though!

At $200, this was no bargain
but isn't it fabulous?
It's a bit more blue in person

I really loved this old chippy fireplace surround
the colors were great
but alas, no way to safely get it home...

We were very surprised to find that the best picking
really is in Florida

The prices everywhere we went were
higher
than our retail
after repairs and paint!
